This blog started out as a way for two women to keep in touch after college while writing about the misadventures of having a B.A. in a B.S. world. And whatever other mysteries that needed solving.
The Boxcar Children and Nancy Drew solved many mysteries together, but after a time, Nancy Drew found a different mystery to solve.
Today, the artist formerly known as The Boxcar Children (now The Leftovers) consists of one woman striving to write about life after college and survival techniques for being an independent, well-adjusted person in the 21st Century.

This is hilarious… Keep it up and maybe someday you will be on Ellen or something.
…I always did like Nancy Drew.

I stumbled upon your blog today and haven’t stopped reading it since.
As a fellow recent “just this side of starving” graduate with a B.A. in English who works two jobs just so she can keep the English majors dream job she got after college… Your blog was a welcome breath of liberal arts fresh air (or would it be musty and dusty because of all the paper and books?)
Thank you and be reading you more later!

Mmm…. The Boxcar Children… Middle-school literary bliss.
I like the blog. Good luck w/ the BA.

Katie, send me an email and let’s talk about your crazy post. I think things got out of hand, and I want you to have a second chance at getting this right. I can help. laurieruettimann@yahoo.com

Love your Blog!
I’m still behind you, girl. I wrote a response to Breanne’s post on HRM today:

Thanks for your musings, I too have a B.A. in English, and so far the most “literary” achievement that that has come of it is my blog!
Love your thoughts on originality (or lack thereof) and your willingness to admit that you don’t have everything figured out in your 20’s. And why should you? The best 70-year-olds (not to mention 30- 40- 50- and 60-year olds) I’ve ever known are still trying to figure out what they want to be when they grow up!
Thanks! I’m glad somebody gets something out of it!
I love your site. Keep it up !
